He would definitely need stronger skills in basically every category if he wanted to make his Academy that more impressive. As such, Ensen decided he needed to improve his skills in a specific area over the next few days.
Conflicted about what to choose, he began to do some research online to see how some of his local academies were first established. He turned his eye to SilverLeaf Academy first, where he was a former teacher and student. After some browsing on their official website, it was first established for parents who wanted their children to be educated outside of the influence of the church.
Realizing this wouldn't help him much, he moved onto Littlewood Academy. Navigating to their website, he noticed the reason for the establishment was vastly different from SilverLeaf. It was established by a famous soccer player that was born in the town. After he had retired, he moved back here and focused on building an Academy with strong athletics to create more famous sports players.
This was a little bit more helpful, as it at the very least gave insight on why it was founded in the first place.
Adjusting his position, Ensen laid down on the couch and put his phone down on his chest. One thing both academies had in common was that they were both established with a specific goal in mind.
With this newfound knowledge, Ensen began reflecting on his driving force towards establishing an Academy. While he did have a large pa.s.sion for it, he never really thought about what he should specialize in. While he could try to be an all-around great school later on in his career, he needed a specialty to draw people's interest at the beginning.
Sports were off of the table right away because it had already been taken. It wasn't like he a particularly interested in having sports as a specialty either way. SilverLeaf Academy had an emphasis on developing student's English skills which was why his work as a math teacher seemed less important in comparison.
The system seemed to be pushing for him to specialize in the piano, possibly music as a whole later on. This was evident from the two items he had acquired. While the textbook was random luck, Ensen had a feeling that the system purposely gave the Paradigm Piano in order to compliment the skill he found to accelerate the development of the Academy.
"System, what kind of things can you actually do?" Ensen whispered under his breath, hoping for a response. But nothing showed up. The system seemed very strange, it was very sociable sometimes and other times it acted like an introvert shut inside the house not wanting to talk.
Giving up on talking to the system momentarily, Ensen turned his attention to how he would improve his knowledge in the musical area. While he did have the textbook for learning the piano skill, that didn't give him permission to slack off. He must always be learning if he wanted to keep improving himself.
As much, Ensen decided on a few things. Foremost, he would first develop a small private Academy specializing in the piano while slowly expanding to cover other instruments. After his reputation was established, he would continue expanding to other objects.
Turning his attention to the financial side of things, he knew he would be having a rough time. There were numerous expenses and not many opportunities for income in the short-term. While there would be tuition when he managed to get students, it would be significantly less when compared to other academies in the area to ensure it would attract students.
Thinking about his options, Ensen slowly pondered many options, dismissing some, and continuing to ponder on others. After a while, he thought of the idea of teaching piano lessons for a little bit, until he had a few students at the very least. That way he could supplement his barely-existing income.
On the bright side of things, he was still being paid his wages as promised by his former Academy before he was fired. It was only a few days until he would get his severance package which would help quite a bit.
Ensen felt he should hold off on learning the piano skill until he knew how much education points it would cost him to either repair or build a new schoolhouse with the help of the system.
After figuring everything out, Ensen decided that it would be very helpful for him if he could see a music teacher in action. After all, while his teaching skill was at the C tier, he didn't know even the first thing about the teaching style with music teachers. While there were a large amount of style, he wanted to get a good grasp of them.
Ensen slowly picked up his phone that was laying on his chest. Searching up 'Piano teaching lessons' on a video-sharing website, Ensen quickly found an abundance of videos. As he was about to start watching a random video, he clicked that seemed like it would be good, his stomach began growling in revolt.
Noticing how hungry he was, he decided to hold off on watching the video. Opting to make some food instead, Ensen laid there for a minute not wanting to get up from his couch before his hungry stomach made him get up. Putting his phone in his pocket, he began walking towards the kitchen. Once he arrived, he opened the fridge and grabbed a few eggs.
Taking a nearby pan, Ensen turned on the stove and began to heat it up. After around a minute he cracked three eggs and dropped them in, the yoke shattering and tiny pieces of the sh.e.l.l falling with it. Taking a nearby wooden spoon, he began stirring it crazily for a minute until it began to break apart and make scrambled eggs.
Crouching down, he had begun to navigate through the messy appliance cabinet before he managed to reach his toaster. Pulling the toaster out, he dropped two pieces of toast into it and silently waited.
After a minute Ensen heard the toaster emit a noise. Upon looking over and seeing the toast was ready, he returned to the stove and took the pan off the stove, turning the stove off in the process. Quickly grabbing a plate, Ensen grabbed the toast and placed it on it. Taking the wooden spoon he used earlier, he gently scooped a decent number of still slightly runny scrambled eggs onto each piece of toast.
Grabbing the plate, Ensen made his way towards the dining table and began to eat while watching the video.
Ensen spent the next few days studying more about the teaching style of music teachers and how they lay their cla.s.ses out. He also tried multiple times to increase his cooking skill again, which didn't turn out great. He began feeling slightly more confident in being able to teach the cla.s.s. Although he had still not learned the piano skill yet, he was confident that the skill would help his teaching a lot.
Sitting on the couch while finishing the last video of a music teaching lesson, Ensen noticed two notifications pop up on his screen right as it was finished.
Pulling up the first message, Ensen quickly radiated a smile as he read it. His severance package had been deposited into his account, and it was more than he previously thought.
Checking his bank account with the new addition, he became slightly less nervous about his financial situation as he turned his gaze towards the next message.
The next message was from Jennifer. Ensen slowly began scanning the text, trying to soak all of the information in. After reading it for about a minute, he tightened his left hand in excitement. Trying to hold in a yell of celebration, he quickly responded to her message thanking her for the effort she had put in with speeding the process of transferring the plot up.
After sending the message, Ensen stood up from the couch in pure excitement.
The plot of land had just been transferred to him.
